Jimmy Liang

CEO

Jimmy Liang is a visionary entrepreneur, acclaimed master chef, and dedicated philanthropist. He is the Founder, CEO, and Head Chef of JP Fuji Group in Quincy, MA. His meteoric rise in the culinary arts began as a teenager. At nineteen years old, he was one of Chinatown’s youngest Head Sushi Chefs. In 1998, Liang and business partner Peter Tse opened Fuji Restaurant in Wollaston. His unbridled passion and extraordinary skill as a chef swiftly made Fuji Restaurant one of the leading destinations on the South Shore. Liang’s vision soon extended beyond Quincy. He founded JP Fuji Group, which proliferated pan-Asian cuisine throughout the Metro-Boston area. Today, the group operates more than a dozen restaurants, shops, and bakeries in eastern Massachusetts.

Liang has been recognized time and again as one of New England’s luminary commercial minds. SmartCEO included him on their Boston’s Future 50 list. South Shore Living named him one of the 10 Most Influential People You Should Know (a group which included actor and comedian Steve Carrell). The Patriot Ledger honored Liang as a “40 Stars Under 40” recipient. Converse featured him in their Global Exhibition campaign in the Boston Business Journal. Liang is the founder of Fuji Design & Construction Co., which handles restaurant build-outs and residential/commercial projects throughout New England. In addition to his role with JP Fuji Group, Liang sits on the board of Eastern Savings Bank, serves as chairman of South Shore YMCA’s “Taste of the South Shore,” and is a prominent collaborator with Cambridge Savings Bank.

Jimmy’s generosity makes a daily difference in the lives of greater Boston’s residents. He was a leading donor and voice of Father Bill’s FoodFest to raise money and awareness for homelessness on the South Shore. His philanthropic efforts include South Shore Medical Center's Asian Service Fund, Bakes for Breast Cancer, Rodman for Kids, Quincy Asian Resources Inc. (QARI), WGBH, Pine Street Inn, Joslin Diabetes Center, and many others. Liang believes that improving a community truly begins at home. His partnership with English for New Bostonians helps newly immigrant employees of the JP Fuji Group learn English and navigate American life.

Jimmy Liang’s journey is not merely a culinary one. It is the story of his profound dedication to empowering individual people, fostering a vibrant community, and building a legacy of unity for the twenty-first century.
